About this cartoon: A lot of dark, bigoted, hateful dirt was stirred up on social media largely because of Donald Trump. His candidacy appealed to the "alt-right" and racists, Klansmen and conspiracy theory buffs, and Trump himself used Twitter regularly to insult anyone who disagreed with him. The online trolls, once released from the shadows, would not so easily go back under the radar.
